There are Buenos Aires:
one for tourist
and another for friends.

Tango en Buenos Aires

Hello!

I’m Silvia Trueba. If you are planning to visit Buenos Aires I invite you to get to know my city and the tango that the “porteños” love; the city that lives by night when we meet friends to have a drink.

This city has history and places that few people know and - of course- are not in the classical tours. Magic places with tango tradition and people we can know in a safe and respectable way.

When I go out I like to do different things: have dinner, chat with friends in typical “cafés”, walk through the most interesting streets and visit the Milongas -ball rooms-.

The program for Thursday and Saturday nights, for those with little time available is:.

Thursdays:

In the evening (6 pm) we meet to learn the tango history, its different periods, musical influences, and the “muse of tango” . We speak English, Spanish and Portuguese ( a language I love).

After that we’ll walk along Corrientes Ave, in safe areas. We can go in the book stores and music shops, discovering corners and unknown sides of the commercial circuits.

Then we can have something to eat in a restaurant or a “fonda”. At the best time of the night, we enjoy ourselves in a typical porteña “Milonga” (place for dancing tango).

Saturdays:

The second part of the tour begins at 10:30 pm, beginning with a talk about tango’s codes: learning to figure them out and recognize those particular manners of expression of this dance.

Later we go a milonga for single dancers – no partner is necessary. Then in the late night – for those who want to – we continue in another typical milonga for all kinds of tango dancers: groups, couples, different ages etc. I can also organize programs on the days of the week with any activities you choose.

Only Tango:

People who are interested can also take Tango lessons and afterwards go to dance at a milonga and practice what they have learnt.

And for you to feel at home there are apartments full equipped, in which you will have sweet dreams after a day full of tango.
Prices; between U$S 40 and U$S50 per person, depending on which tour.
